The Leauge is proud to have completed contruction on two bocce courts in Garfield Park in the Fall of 2005! Nestled near the playground and tennis courts are two open-use courts, the first and only bocce courts in DC (though hopefully not the last). We invite the entire community to enjoy them and become familiar with one of the world’s oldest sports. Thank you to all who helped during construction! A special thanks goes to LandDesign, who volunteered their services and equipment in excavating the courts.
Would you like to sponsor the DC Bocce League? We can provide advertising and placement for your organization on our T Shirts, Bocce Courts and website. Please email us here with your ideas and details about your organization.
Bocce is great networking and socializing oppurtunity. Rumor has it there are even a few Bocce couples floating around the district. Make sure to sign up for the next season of DC Bocce!
Independent films about bocce are sweaping the nation! Be sure to check out the bocce doc Watch the Pallino and the bold crime saga Bocce: The Movie, both come highly recommended by League members.
And for all you law students out there, you might want to look at the Venable firm, the only firm in DC to feature a rooftop bocce court at its Penn Quarter office.
